Secret Santa Wheel is a small free tool run by an independent developer ("we"). This page explains what data is processed when you use it, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Names and draw results

The Secret Santa draw runs entirely in your web browser. Names, rules and results are not sent to or stored on our servers. Each person's result is contained only in the part of their private link after the "#" symbol, which browsers do not send to web servers.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people visit, how many draws are completed and how many result pages are opened. It does not use cookies or similar storage on your device and does not build a profile of you. It records the page address without anything after "#" (so the names inside links are never sent), the referring site, browser and device type, and an approximate country worked out from your IP address. We only see totals, not individual visitors.

We rely on our legitimate interests to understand whether the tool is useful and to keep it working. To stop being counted in this browser, open this link once; this saves a small setting in your browser that only exists to remember your choice. Open this link to undo it.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare acts as our processor and may handle this data outside the UK, including in the United States, under appropriate safeguards. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

We do not set cookies. The only thing we may store in your browser is the optional "don't count me" setting described above.

Your rights

You have rights to ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, and to object to its use. Because we hold no names, accounts or individual analytics records, we usually cannot link any data to you. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The site is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and the date above.
